Appointment of new Marketing and Commercial Manager

Date posted:
16/04/2010

BASDA is pleased to announce the appointment of a new full-time marketing and commercial manager to assist the association in its plans to provide measurable value to members, retain and grow membership and raise our profile among key stakeholders and the market at large.

Her name is Libby Tooley, a marketer with long experience of membership organisations, specifically the Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA), and the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM).  Libby also worked as a marketing consultant for FIRA - for companies of all sizes both manufacturers and suppliers to the industry.

Libby brings experience in developing memebrship products, extending the organisation's footprint, reviewing governance/articles of association, and working with partners and major funders.

Peter Robertshaw, BASDA's marketing director commented: "Libby has a unique blend of the marketing and commercial skills which we need coupled with deep experience of the unique requirements of membership organisations. She has already brought some exciting new ideas to the table."

Jairo Rojas, BASDA's director general said: "I am delighted to welcome someone with the seniority and experience that Libby has, particularly at this point when BASDA has achieved so much over the past two years and can now take forward and develop our new initiatives."

The evolution of BASDA over the last few years and the new initiatives that BASDA has engaged in which include the new CLOUD Computing SIG, a Data Protection Group, and further collaboration with other organisations, mean that your association is well placed to benefit from the experience of this new member of our team.

Our priorities for 2010 include:

  • Membership retention and development
  • A focus on demonstrating the value-add BASDA brings to members
  • Extending our footprint in our industry, and increasing participation for current members
  • Implementing the changes suggested by members in our latest survey
  • Improving relationships with partners and alliances, and seeking new ones with organisations relevant to our industry
  • Facilitating the management and execution of our SIGs
  • Identifying new products and services to add value to our members' businesses and our industry.
