The combination of Access Dimensions and figures from DEFRA and the Carbon Trust enables organisations to account for their carbon emissions as part of normal day-to-day operations. It adds no cost or complexity, making the figures as easy to access as financial reports. Access Dimensions, is the first ever accounting system to calculate a business’ carbon footprint as part of daily activity.

Microsoft is offering its Dynamics AX 2009 customers a free dashboard that will capture data on energy consumption from the underlying enterprise resource planning software. http://www.microsoft.com/dynamics/environment.mspx

Naturally, environmental awareness is extremely important for any thinking organisation. The main questions are:

- If I cannot measure something how can I manage it?

- If I can measure it how can I audit it to make sure it is correct?

- Can I do all of the above without a significant increase in work?

Using PS Financials advanced facilities, such as the Unified Ledger structure, User defined input Multi-dimensional analysis, users may automatically calculate CO2 and Greenhouse Gas Emissions, using industry standard tables from DEFRA.
