Green SIG

Green SIG Chair:
The Green SIG is jointly chaired by Jairo Rojas, Director General of BASDA and Peter Robertshaw, Marketing Director of BASDA.

Green SIG - Who should get involved:
For any developer or reseller who needs to keep informed about and wants to influence regulations regarding carbon emissions management in relation to business software.The Green SIG engages with the EC and other relevant organisations.

Green SIG — Current Agenda and Successes:

• Set up a working group to prioritise key software areas to go into a Green code of practice, e.g.  Supply chain, triple bottom-line reporting,  budgeting.
• Help to set standards based, for example, on G3 sub-standards.
• Set up partnerships with industries/bodies that pose the biggest problem, e.g. construction, energy.
• Set up an education campaign – work with the ESA.
• Publish guidlines on “How to make your company green”.
• Produce a ‘green’ white paper, written and sponsored by members to educate customers.
• Put on Marketing SIG agenda – green awareness programme and how to sell
