Green XML in action
With the likelihood that future financial reporting will include Carbon emissions, understandably this is a core subject for the BASDA Green SIG. Recently, enabling B2B paperless transactions to meet CO2 reduction targets has driving the development of the Green extensions for the BASDA eBIS XML schemas. It is felt that potentially there are large markets for software houses that offer solutions that encompass these issues. One of our members, @UK plc, have developed an online platform that reviews the carbon footprint automatically at the checkout of online transactions. Offsetting the carbon emissions from the transaction is an additional feature of the product. This product is being launched on Thursday 7th October 2010 by Richard Benyon MP, Minister for the Natural Environment and Fisheries at the offices of @UK plc, Aldermaston and you are cordially invited to attend.
