Joining BASDA
BASDA offers 4 different types of membership:
Full Membership
For business software developers or allied organisations in a special interest group.
A Full Member is:
- A developer of a recognised business application software product operating as a discrete business entity where the sales of software and services account for more than 30% of total revenues.
- Any organisation allied to the business application software industry or part of a Special Interest Group who's membership, in the view of the General Council would further the aims of BASDA in line with its constitution.
A Full BASDA Member can:
- Vote at meetings of BASDA, where attendees will have one vote for the organisation.
- Appoint a representative to be its main contact for all administrative purposes of BASDA.
- Put forward a delegate to stand for election to the BASDA General Council.
- Enter their own company, news and product details on the BASDA website.
- Access the Members’ Area of the BASDA website.
- Access the members’ Knowledgebase of information
- Receive certain BASDA publications free of charge (such as the Newsletter) and other publications (such as Whitepapers) at a concessionary rate.
- Call upon BASDA to act as arbitrator in the case of disputes.
- Advertise their membership of BASDA and use the BASDA logo.
- If able to meet the set criteria, sign up to the BASDA Code of Practice and advertise that.
BASDA Associate Membership is for organisations who follow the business software industry but whose primary interest may not be in application development. For example, a media supplier or events organiser for the Business Software industry can join BASDA as an Associate member.
An Associate member can:
- Attend meetings of BASDA but is not entitled to a vote at such meetings.
- Appoint a representative to be the main contact for administrative purposes of BASDA.
- Access the Members area of the BASDA website.
- Receive certain BASDA publications free of charge (such as the Newsletter) and other publications (such as Whitepapers) at a concessionary rate.
- Advertise their membership of BASDA and use the BASDA logo.
Affiliate Membership
Affiliate Membership is for organisations with a special interest in business application software wishing to establish a Forum under the BASDA stewardship such as an industry specific variant of eBIS-XML.
Affiliate Membership is for organisations with a special interest in business application software wishing to establish a Forum under the BASDA stewardship such as an industry specific variant of eBIS-XML.
Typically this category would consist of the users of business application software wishing to create industry specific standards. This category is not open to software developers.
An Affiliate member can:
- Access the Member's Area of the BASDA website
- Where required contribute to a dedicated area of the BASDA website to support the affiliate activities.
- Attend meetings of BASDA but is not entitled to a vote at such meetings.
- Appoint a representative to be the main contact for administrative purposes of BASDA.
- Receive certain BASDA publications free of charge (such as the Newsletter) and other publications (such as Whitepapers) at a concessionary rate.
- Advertise their membership of BASDA and use the BASDA logo.
Each Affiliate group will have stated aims and objectives and each membership entry will only apply to those aims and objectives.
Corporate Information Membership
Corporate Information membership is a limited form of BASDA Associate Membership for organisations who wish to closely monitor BASDA initiatives and activities affecting multiple sectors such Universities and Further Education, and other trade associations.
Corporate Information membership is a limited form of BASDA Associate Membership for organisations who wish to closely monitor BASDA initiatives and activities affecting multiple sectors such Universities and Further Education, and other trade associations.
Each corporate information member will can:
- Access the Member's Area of the BASDA website - one login is provided
- Attend meetings of BASDA but is not entitled to a vote at such meetings.
- Appoint a representative to be the main contact for administrative purposes of BASDA.
- Receive certain BASDA publications free of charge (such as the Newsletter) and other publications (such as Whitepapers) at a concessionary rate.
- Advertise their membership of BASDA and use the BASDA logo.
