Cloud Awareness SIG Aims and Objectives
This Specialist Interest Group has been set up to raise the profile of business Cloud computing applications, exploring ideas around standards and best practice and producing deliverables that benefit both members, partners and end users.
- Ensure that members of BASDA understand both the potential and the implications for developing Cloud business applications.
- Inform and educate end users about Cloud business applications – the potential benefits and the considerations for implementation.
- Communicate with the wider industry and bodies that influence the future of Cloud computing.
Cloud Awareness SIG is currently engaging with:
Software suppliers, end users, industry experts and influencers in the Cloud computing environment. Sift Media is one of the partners working with the SIG, including involvement in their Business Cloud Summit .
Cloud Awareness SIG — who should get involved?
Any businesses who are currently developing Cloud business applications or who are looking at developing Cloud applications in the future. In addition involvement is invited from other industry groups and bodies who have an interest in the future of Cloud computing and SaaS.
Cloud Awareness SIG — Current Agenda
The primary aim of the group is to help people understand the potential benefits and limitations of implementing Cloud applications through an education and communication campaign. Part of this will be to initiate a dialogue between developers, end users, and vendors. In addition, BASDA members have collaborated to produce Cloud computing documentation to explain, to members and end users, what ‘Cloud computing’ means and gain end user feedback through a survey of delegates at the Business Cloud Summit in December in London.
The next Cloud Awareness SIG meeting is to be confirmed. For more information please email secretary@basda.org
