Tell us about your products / services

Our main service currently is providing Making Tax Digital (MTD) VAT bridging software to HMRC for those using Excel Spreadsheets.

What was your reason for joining BASDA?

123 Sheets joined BASDA in February 2019.  We believe in promoting the software industry to government, and would like to get involved in helping with that in whatever way we can.

What value will membership of BASDA bring to your business?

We believe in the power of one voice for the software industry in the UK. This is BASDA. As software providers in the Making Tax Digital industry, we believe we are likely to get better information regarding Making Tax Digital from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), if we are part of a larger co-operation that liaises with HMRC.

Are there any particular topics that BASDA is championing that you are particularly interested in?

Making Tax Digital which is a key priority for our business.

What are the current challenges within your industry and how can BASDA help your company as the voice of industry?

Dealing with HMRC. It appears to us that HMRC are struggling to get good information out about Making Tax Digital. We think we can help tax payers with their VAT Compliance issues if we have better communications with HMRC. In this way we can relay correct information on to tax payers on behalf of HMRC that will smooth the transition for tax payers on to Making Tax Digital. If we are successful in that, we believe it will help us grow our business as customers will consider us the “go to” software provider to help them fulfil their compliance needs.

Can you offer any advice to BASDA members?

Always consider your software from the view point of the customer, this is fundamental. If you don’t do that, you won’t have a good product, and no matter how well you market it, you will struggle to succeed.
