When did you join BASDA?

July 2026.

What was the reason for joining BASDA?

Joining BASDA – the representative body and recognised “voice of UK business software” – is a natural fit for Bitcube. As a UK-led agency building bespoke software for growing businesses and enterprise leaders across regulated sectors such as tax, payroll, and finance, being part of BASDA gives us a seat at the table where policy meets code.

For us, membership isn’t just a badge; it’s a direct connection to the peers and government bodies shaping technical and regulatory standards. Staying close to these policy developments ensures we are building for what’s coming next, not just reacting to what has already shipped.

Membership also mirrors our core values. Our ISO 27001 and ISO 42001 certifications demonstrate our independent commitment to security and responsible AI practices. BASDA provides an industry-wide framework and a collaborative community that strengthens those principles.

What value do you hope BASDA will bring to your business?

We hope BASDA will serve as a collaborative bridge between our development teams and regulatory bodies. By engaging directly with BASDA’s Specialist Interest Groups, we gain early foresight into upcoming UK regulatory and technical shifts. This enables us to proactively architect robust, compliant software solutions for our enterprise clients long before deadlines arrive, ensuring they remain ahead of the curve.

Are there any particular topics that BASDA is championing that you are particularly interested in and why?

Payroll, pensions and employment compliance are naturally key areas of interest for us, particularly as legislation continues to evolve across the UK. We’re also interested in cyber security, AI and automation, and the wider digital transformation of business software. These developments will play an increasingly important role in helping organisations improve efficiency while maintaining compliance and protecting sensitive employee data.

What are the current challenges within your industry and can BASDA help your company as the voice of industry?

We are particularly focused on cybersecurity, responsible AI integration, and Making Tax Digital (MTD):

  • Cybersecurity & Responsible AI: As an ISO 27001 and ISO 42001 certified agency, maintaining stringent data protection, sound governance, and ethical deployment standards is core to our operational fabric.
  • Making Tax Digital (MTD): A significant portion of our work touches financial, tax, and ERP software integrations. BASDA’s close ties with HMRC allow us to help refine standardisation and keep our clients’ custom systems fully aligned with regulatory standards without operational disruption.

Can you offer any advice to BASDA members?

Build for what’s coming, not just what’s shipped. Treat compliance, security, and standards not as fi nal-destination checkboxes but as foundational architectural principles. When you invest early in world-class engineering standards and open collaboration across your peer network, regulatory shifts become opportunities to innovate rather than obstacles to manage.
