Our Member of the Month feature celebrates our members and the work they do. This month we’re taking a look at systemsync and their sister company, pensionsync, their perspective on the software industry and how they’ve used BASDA membership to give them an edge.

pensionsync_logoFormed in 2015, systemsync was founded on the back of a rapidly growing software development consultancy. The team had been building mobile apps, enterprise apps, software products and APIs for over ten years. The team had been building mobile apps, enterprise apps, software products and APIs for over ten years. They have been using their experience as a software consultancy to positively impact on the pensions and payroll industry since autumn 2013. systemsync own and operate a secure data hub, pensionsync, automates the transfer of data between payroll, benefits and pension systems.

systemsync were engaged with BASDA before they even became members. This time last year systemsync were working on a joint initiative with BASDA and BIB. In the past they had also worked with Pensions BIB and therefore knew quite a lot of the payroll representatives who encouraged them join – and they’re really glad they did!

They also decided to join so that they could attend the Pensions and Payroll Specialist Interest Group sessions. Chris Deeson, CMO at systemsync, said, “Personally I’ve benefitted from contact beyond my normal networking group by attending the group. Other payroll businesses that go to the sessions are companies we don’t normally see or talk to. It’s good to find out their position on things”. As a company, systemsync have benefited from having information early so that they can get a good view of what’s happening in the whole payroll sphere from a legislative perspective

Chris continued to say that “the people who turn up to SIGs tend to be the people within the developing aspect of the business. These are the people who get into the nitty gritty of things and don’t get to do much networking normally. We’ve also been introduced to people from HMRC, DWP, people we wouldn’t have bumped into normally”.

systemsync are keen to be involved with new initiatives that the government are working with. They would also like to continue to network with other companies they’d like to work with and also companies that they’d potentially like to get services from as and when they expand
